R.I.G.
The R.I.G. is BLF’s custom ‘consultant in a box‘ program that gives independent truckers everything they need to manage their business and avoid the common pitfalls that so many face in today’s trucking industry.
Sure, you drive your truck. But how well do you you drive your business?
FACT: 87% of truckers fail within 2 years.
That’s the bad news. The good news is the reasons have less to do with the high cost of fuel and low rates per mile than you might think. Here’s why it really happens:
Poor Management
Many independent truckers start out their business without a business background and are unprepared for everything it takes to do it properly.
Low Rates and Cash Flow
The goal of every trucker should be working towards regular contracts and dedicated lanes. This can be done, with the right strategy.
Lack of Professional Support
Independent truckers are doing it alone all the time-hours and hours on the road ensure this fact.

The Importance of Proper Management
One common reason trucking businesses fail is because they struggle to manage their drivers, finances, or business effectively – Leading to trouble finding and keeping excellent drivers or keeping their finances profitable.
Poor management can shut down a trucking business very quickly. Drivers quit, and there is no one to replace them. Costs go uncontrolled. Tasks are completed inefficiently. Drivers lack structure, or have too many rules placed on them.
Having a solid business manager, or learning to do it yourself, will help you run a more streamlined, cost-effective, and thriving trucking business.
Professional Support
Trucking business owners, particularly owner-operators and those who run small fleets, try to take on multiple responsibilities on their own. One person handles finding freight, dispatching, accounting, safety, sales and marketing, and more.
The problem with this approach is that the individual wearing multiple hats encounters natural obstacles in time and energy that make it difficult for them to complete all of their tasks promptly and effectively. Or worse, they don’t know how to do all of these things, which can spell disaster quickly.
Having professional support allows truckers to focus on freight. Whether that means investing in a full-time employee, or hiring a business to provide professional support filling in the gaps can significantly improve chances of success over the long term.

That is why we created the R.I.G.
R.I.G. membership gives truckers the confidence of having trusted experts, who actually care, helping them to manage the business.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to see results?
The time required to see tangible results varies depending on the specific challenges your business is facing and the areas of focus. However, many of our clients begin to see positive changes in operational efficiency and financial management within a few months. Our goal is to provide long-term strategies that contribute to your company’s sustained growth. This is the whole reason we created the R.I.G.
Will this be a long term relationship?
We sure hope so. Sustained growth requires ongoing support and strategy refinement. Long-term partnerships allow us to continually monitor progress, adapt strategies as needed, and provide ongoing guidance to ensure your trucking business reaches its full potential.
What if I am only a sole prop or owner/operator?
Owner-operators are actually who will benefit from R.I.G. membership more than anyone. While larger companies tend to have support staff, owner operators have to juggle multiple roles in their business. And truth be told, a lot of owner operators are great at all things freight, but not so great at business management. Especially truckers with less than a few years experience under their belts.
Will I deal with one consultant only?
Yes. All R.I.G. members have a dedicated consultant (at time of writing, our CEO Sean Hawley). All of us at BLF love and root for our truckers to succeed at every stage of their business. For a proper consulting relationship to work, both sides (client and consultant) need to build a strong relationship together. This is important so that the trust goes both ways. In fact, we’re sure that after a while you will even become good friends.
What happens if I cancel my R.I.G. membership?
As long as you are a paying member of the R.I.G. you will receive all of the benefits included in your plan. This does not mean that should you cancel, we would stop taking your calls in the future. Everyone at BLF is very accessible and helpful all the time.
Is there a limit on how many times I can access my consultant?
No. Your BLF consultant is available for you whenever you have a need or a question. You should always feel comfortable reaching out whenever you want. Although we’re not robots and cannot answer every call/email instantly all the time, communication will be prompt. Obviously, there needs to be a reasonable expectation that your consultant may be busy at times.
What’s not included
Just like truckers, BLF knows how to ‘stay in our own lane’.

2. Personal Credit Services
Included with: All R.I.G. membership levels
Service type: Monthly

It all starts here.
For truckers, especially sole props and single member LLCs, your personal credit will have an affect on every aspect of your trucking business. Good personal credit will open doors to things like the ability to borrow money at decent terms, get lines of credit, lower insurance premiums & factor rates, and expand the fleet with truck loans. Bad personal credit closes all of those doors.
How Personal Credit Works on the RIG
Initial Score Analysis
In this critical first step, we perform a comprehensive review of your credit reports from all three major credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. This allows us to understand your current credit situation, identify inaccuracies, and pinpoint areas for improvement. Our thorough analysis serves as the foundation for the personalized strategy we’ll develop for you.
Credit Usage Analysis
We delve into your credit utilization, which is the ratio of your credit card balances to credit limits. This ratio has a significant impact on your credit score. We offer actionable advice on how to optimize your credit usage to positively affect your credit score, such as paying down high balances or redistributing debt.
Setting a Goal
Once we have a complete understanding of your current credit status, we help you establish realistic, achievable credit goals. Whether you’re aiming towards get a business loan, or simply improve your financial health, clear goals will guide our joint efforts and help you measure progress. The goals are usually set in incremental stages so that we have signposts for progress.
Dispute Resolution
If our initial score analysis uncovers inaccuracies or discrepancies on your credit report, we will embark on a dispute process on your behalf. This involves contacting the credit bureaus and your creditors to correct errors, such as outdated information, unauthorized inquiries, or incorrect account statuses, which can negatively affect your score. The dispute resolution stage can begin and end quickly, or in some cases, take several months until we have achieved the goal of clearing everything up.
Updates on Progress
We will keep you informed with regular updates that outline the actions taken and the resulting changes to your credit score. These updates serve as a motivational tool and allow us to adjust our strategies if needed. Updates are sent to you whenever we have one, via email. You will also be able to check yourself throughout your BLF portal or even by looking at your credit report.
FICO Score Management
Once the hard stuff is out of the way and we have seen improvement, we will want to keep on top of your FICO and make sure it is remaining at a good level. We provide guidance on factors that can improve your FICO score, such as maintaining a good payment history, and tips on avoiding pitfalls that may cause it to drop.
Maintenance
Maintaining a good credit score is an ongoing effort. Even after reaching your initial credit goals, we offer strategies to help you sustain your credit health. This involves advice on disciplined spending, timely payments, and prudent credit management. Nobody likes being told what to do, so everything we say is only a suggestion!
Teamwork!
In order to truly achieve the results we are after, we need teamwork. We’re in this together.
What it is NOT.
An overnight fix.
Personal credit takes time to both repair and build. A low credit score is often the result of years of bad decisions and bad breaks. While it is possible to see improvement quickly, there is no guarantee of this.
A one-size-fits-all.
Credit solutions will differ from one person to another. Every single credit profile is unique, and thus the steps to repair and build are also unique to the credit user.
A debt repayment program.
Credit repair services is not a program that lowers monthly payments or arranges settlement payoffs. While we can, and will, advise you on what debts to pay down and when, we don’t really get too involved in requesting/offering payment arrangements to creditors (although we do sometimes). We can however, make a recommendation to a non-profit credit counseling organization that can assist you in these matters.
Entirely up to us.
If you are truly serious about building your personal credit you are going to need to be a part of the process with us. This means you might need to make some changes to the way you have previously done things (or not done them!). It might not be easy at first, but it will be worth it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my personal credit is already good?
If this is the case for you (sadly it is not for most of our trucking clients), then you will really not have any need for this component of your R.I.G. membership. We will focus on the other R.I.G. components that you do need. It’s also good to keep in mind that if anything does happen where your credit takes a hit, we can jump in and help.
Will I need to use a credit monitoring service?
If we are working towards repairing your credit, then yes. At least for the first several months. This is needed for all of us to be able to track changes as we go. We recommend BLF clients sign up for Creditcare, which is an excellent service. We will usually tell you when it is okay to cancel your Creditcare membership.
How do I track my progress?
You will be able to see all of the changes to your report in two ways;. via checking your credit monitoring service and via updates from us. We notify our clients of every single change to your FICO score as we go along via instant email updates.
How soon will I see improvement?
This all depends on what’s hurting your score and why. However, it is not uncommon to see credit shoot up a bit, especially at first. On average, most clients see a reasonable improvement within 8 months. But keep in mind, every client is different.
I’ve heard credit repair is a scam. Is this true?
No. Credit repair, as a service, is a perfectly legitimate and real thing that works as long as whoever is performing the service knows what they are doing. The problem with the credit repair industry is that most people who call themselves credit experts are nothing of the sort.
Can’t I do this myself?
Absolutely. The question is do you want to? Repairing credit takes a bit of know how and a lot of effort. Especially if there are disputes on a personal credit report. Truckers in general, don’t exactly have a lot of spare time on their hands and staying on top of disputes and letters to creditors can be very time consuuming.
What happens if I cancel my R.I.G. membership?
As long as you are a paying member of the R.I.G. we will continue to monitor your credit and make sure it is remaining constant (or hopefully improving. If your score has improved nothing will happen to it if you cancel your R.I.G. membership.
I have have friend who needs help with credit. Can you help?
Maybe. BLF is a business consulting firm, and thus most of our clients are trucking business owners. The R.I.G. was designed for them, and personal credit is actually a “perk” included for free on the R.I.G.. It may not make sense to enroll a non-trucker as a full R.I.G. member.
3. Business Credit Services
Included with: Silver & Gold R.I.G. membership levels
Service type: Monthly

Use the power of your business to grow itself.
As a business establishes and grows positive credit history, financing with true business lenders becomes more accessible. Rates on business credit cards, loans and lines of credit cards are far better than with personal credit alone, making it easier to manage expenses and grow your business. And more importantly, using business credit separates personal risk from transactions.
How Business Credit Works on the RIG
Establish a Business Credit Profile
The first step in your journey toward building business credit is establishing a separate credit profile for your trucking business. For true sole props, this usually involves registering as an LLC in your state. registering your business and obtaining a federal Employer Identification Number (EIN)/tax id#, (*you maybe be able to keep you old one). After that it is advisable to open a business bank account. Having a distinct credit profile is crucial for securing business loans and lines of credit.
If you have been a sole prop for many years and have been apprehensive of forming an LLC because of the effect to your DOT Authority, we will walk you through why it is not as big a deal as you think it may be.
Start Separating Accounts
One common mistake among small trucking companies is the mingling of personal and business finances. We help you set up separate accounts and lines of credit specifically for your business operations. This not only makes accounting easier but also helps in building your business credit score independently of your personal credit.
Baby Steps
Building business credit doesn’t happen overnight, especially for small trucking companies that may be new to the process. We guide you through the initial steps, such as securing trade credit with suppliers and vendors. By starting small and making timely payments, you can gradually build your credit reputation in a sustainable manner.
BLF is also able to assist with some truckers with getting trade lines quickly by utilizing a service that will add you as a borrower (or authorized user) to their trade accounts. This works sometimes. We’ll let you know if its possible after we become familiar with you as a client.
Dispute Resolution
Just like with personal credit, errors can occur on your business credit reports that can adversely affect your ability to secure loans or lines of credit. If we identify inaccuracies during our review of your business credit profile, we will initiate disputes with the relevant credit bureaus on your behalf. This can involve challenging inaccuracies, outdated information, or other discrepancies to ensure that your business’s creditworthiness is accurately represented.
Updates on Progress
Building a solid business credit profile is a marathon, not a sprint. As we work together to improve your business credit, we will regularly update you on the progress we’ve made. These updates will include actionable insights, milestones reached, and recommendations for future steps to ensure that you’re always in the loop and know exactly where your business stands in terms of credit.
Dunn & Bradstreet
As one of the most recognized business credit bureaus, establishing a profile with Dun & Bradstreet is a significant step. We guide you through the process of applying for a D-U-N-S Number—a unique identifier for your business—and how to manage your profile for optimal creditworthiness. This helps potential lenders and suppliers understand the financial stability of your trucking business.
Experian Intellliscore
Another key player in the business credit landscape is Experian. Their Intelliscore system is a predictive algorithm that helps lenders assess the credit risk of your trucking company. We help you understand the factors that influence your Intelliscore and strategies for improving it, ensuring you are well-positioned to secure financing when needed
Monitor and Make Good Choices
Once you have a business credit profile established we will monitor it for you and make sure you are growing it correctly and effectively.
What it is NOT.
Instant Access to large credit amounts.
Business credit takes time to both establish and build. However, as it builds your access to higher credit limits and better lenders will expand.
Terribly difficult.
Most of the time building business credit is easier than building personal credit. Especially once it is established. As long as you stay up to date with your account(s), your business credit score should only go up.
Entirely up to us.
Just like your personal credit, we need you to be on board with what needs to be done (and not done!) to build your business credit. It’s important that you keep to the plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get and build business credit if I am a sole prop?
Yes, sole proprietors can build business credit. However, because a sole proprietorship doesn’t separate personal and business finances, the owner’s personal credit history often impacts the ability to obtain business credit. This is the case, at least at first, when you first begin to build business credit.
Do I really need business credit?
YES. A strong business credit score can help you secure better terms on loans or leasing agreements for new trucks and equipment. Business credit also can save you money on insurance/factoring costs. This can reduce your cost of doing business.
I am a sole prop are you going to make me become an LLC?
We can’t make our truckers do anything. But we will strongly urge you to do this. There reasons for forming an LLC vs staying a sole prop are far too numerous to mention them all here, but access to better credit is definitely one of them.
Can I build business credit with bad personal credit?
Yes, but it might be more challenging (you may need to start with secured credit options). The key is to make timely payments and manage your business finances responsibly to gradually improve your business credit score. Also keep in mind- a a R.I.G. member, we will be working on your personal credit as well.
What impact may seasonality have on business credit?
The trucking industry can be seasonal, which may lead to fluctuating income. These changes in revenue could impact your credit utilization ratio, a factor that affects your credit score. It’s essential to manage your credit responsibly during both busy and slow periods.
How long will it take?
While building business credit may require some effort, it is not as daunting as it may seem. By paying bills on time, utilizing a diverse range of credit products and keeping your credit utilization ratio low, you can effectively establish and maintain strong business credit.

During this session, we assess your current business status, identify growth obstacles, and discuss your vision for the future. Strategy Formulation
Based on the initial consultation and market analysis, we craft a comprehensive strategy tailored for your trucking business. This strategy will outline the steps needed to achieve your set goals, from optimizing operations to exploring new revenue streams. Every element of the strategy is designed to provide you with a clear path toward business expansion and profitability.
Setting a Goal
Setting clear, achievable goals is critical for any successful business growth plan. Whether you aim to expand your fleet, increase your customer base, or enter new markets, defining specific goals will serve as a roadmap for our joint efforts. Having concrete objectives enables us to create a more targeted and effective growth strategy.
The goal(s) set forth in a growth plan may first start off with smaller, more easily reachable targets, which can then build to larger goals that relate to long term profitability and growth.
Action Plan
Once the strategy is in place, the next step is to convert it into an actionable plan. This involves breaking down the larger objectives into smaller, manageable tasks, each with its own timeline and responsible parties. This action plan serves as your operational guide, ensuring that the growth strategy is effectively executed.
Review, Adapt, and Improve
The business landscape, especially in the trucking industry, is always evolving. What hurts a lot of smaller trucking companies is not being able to adapt. And the last 4 years have seen some truly unpredictable events- first the COVID pandemic, and then the war in Ukraine. Because so much of trucking is at the mercy of external circumstances, it’s vital to be able to react accordingly.
We regularly review the action plan’s performance against set goals and KPIs. This ongoing analysis allows us to adapt the strategy as needed, ensuring that your trucking company remains on the path to sustained growth.
Continuous Support
Your growth journey doesn’t end once the action plan is executed; it’s a continuous process that requires regular monitoring and support. What it is NOT.
Set it and Forget it.
A growth plan is a plan that blah blah.
Adaptable to everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need this if all I need is more freight?
If this is the case for you (sadly it is not for most of our trucking clients), then you will really not have any need for this component of your R.I.G. membership. We will focus on the other R.I.G. components that you do need. It’s also good to keep in mind that if anything does happen where your credit takes a hit, we can jump in and help.
Do I have to know a lot about business to use this?
If we are working towards repairing your credit, then yes. At least for the first several months. This is needed for all of us to be able to track changes as we go. We recommend BLF clients sign up for Creditcare, which is an excellent service. We will usually tell you when it is okay to cancel your Creditcare membership.
How Involved do I need to be?
You will be able to see all of the changes to your report in two ways;. via checking your credit monitoring service and via updates from us. We notify our clients of every single change to your FICO score as we go along via instant email updates.
What if I have my Own Ideas for Growth?
No. Credit repair, as a service, is a perfectly legitimate and real thing that works as long as whoever is performing the service knows what they are doing. The problem with the credit repair industry is that most people who call themselves credit experts are nothing of the sort.
What if the plan fails?
Nobody intends for business plans to fail. But, business is fickle, and the transportation industry is an unpredictable beast. It is entirely possible that we will need to ‘recalibrate’ the original plan to account for changing circumstances. And in extreme cases, a whole new plan needs to be created. Don’t worry, if it happens, we’ve got your back.
How long does it take to see results?
Short term plans (1-3 months) will see results right away. Long term plans (6-12 months and beyond) will be more of a slow burn, and will require more dedication and patience. As long as they plan is sound and reasonable, the benefits will surface.
5. Profit & Loss Review
Included with: All R.I.G. membership levels
Performed: Quarterly

It’s Time for Your Report Card.
Keeping track of money coming in and going out is crucial for any trucking business. Our quarterly Profit and Loss Review service simplifies this for you. We dive deep into your finances to figure out what’s working and what needs fixing. The goal is simple: help you understand where your money is going, so you can earn more and spend less. No complicated jargon, just clear insights and actionable advice to keep your trucking business on the road to success.
How Profit & Loss Review Works on the RIG
Initial Assessment
This process begins with an initial assessment where we take a detailed look at your Profit and Loss statement (if you don’t have one we can usually just use your bank statements). This overview helps us gain insights into your trucking company’s financial health, identifying areas that require immediate attention and those that are performing well. This step sets the stage for a more targeted analysis.
Revenue Analysis
A critical part of any P&L review is an in-depth analysis of revenue streams. We will break down your income by customer, load type, or any other criteria that apply to your business. By understanding where your revenue comes from, we can identify opportunities for growth and diversification.
Expense Breakdown
Managing expenses is a key element for profitability, especially in the trucking industry where costs can escalate quickly. Our review will itemize your expenses into fixed and variable categories, enabling us to isolate areas for potential savings or efficiency improvements. This gives you a clear picture of where your money is going each month.
Profit Margins
Once we have a comprehensive understanding of your revenues and expenses, we move on to evaluating your profit margins. We’ll assess if the margins are healthy and sustainable, and compare them with industry standards. This helps you understand how your trucking business stacks up against the competition and where there is room for improvement.
Recommendations
Based on our analyses, we will provide actionable recommendations targeted at improving your P&L performance. These could range from renegotiating vendor contracts to optimizing route planning, all aimed at boosting profitability. Our suggestions are customized to the unique challenges and opportunities facing your small trucking business.
Future Planning
Our P&L review is not just about looking at past and present performance; it’s also about planning for the future. With the insights gained, we help you create a forward-looking financial plan. This enables you to proactively manage both opportunities and challenges, positioning your business for long-term success.

Us controlling your money.
Everything about the R.I.G. is suggestive. If we think you’re spending too much money on Starbucks every week we will probably advise you to bring coffee in a thermos. But how many Venti lattes you buy is up to you.
Tax filing.
Our P & L review is meant to compliment your bookkeeping, not replace it. You will sill need to ensure your quarterly taxes are completed. If you need a bookkeeper, you can upgrade to Gold R.I.G. membership.
Anything permanent.
Credit repair services is not a program that lowers monthly payments or arranges settlement payoffs. While we can, and will, advise you on what debts to pay down and when, we don’t really get too involved in requesting/offering payment arrangements to creditors (although we do sometimes). If It’s like a health check-up, but for your business money. We look at what you’re earning and spending every quarter to see how you can make more profit. Is this really necessary?
Knowing where your money goes can help you make better decisions. This service aims to find ways to cut down costs and boost your income, all explained in simple terms.
How often is the review done?

How will I know if this is working?
You should start noticing more money in your account! You would be surprised how a far a little guidance, discipline and new habits go towards saving you money each month. What do I need to do?
If you have accounting software (like Quickbooks) you can create a report directly from the main interface. If you don’t use any software you can simply provide us with your monthly bank statements. All R.I.G. clients have access to a portal to upload documents. Reminders are sent out automatically each month on the 10th.
Is this complicated?
Not at all! We break things down into simple language and easy-to-understand reports. No business degree needed, just a willingness to learn. Before you know it, you’ll be doing it for your buddies.
What if my business is too small?
No business is too small for good financial habits. In fact, smaller businesses often see quicker improvements, because every little change can make a big impact. Another thing to remember is small businesses can make big earnings-yet another reason why sound finances are important.
What if I don’t want to follow your suggestions?
Our suggestions are only offered to help you hold on to the money you earn. We know how hard truckers work, and it pains us to see any of you struggle. Habits may be hard to break, but we hope you at least try. But you don’t have to do anything we tell you.

Getting a loan can be a game changer for your trucking business, but the process can feel overwhelming. That’s where our on-demand Loan Prep service comes in. We help you get all your ducks in a row so you can apply for a loan with confidence. From gathering essential documents to strategizing your loan application, we’ve got you covered. No financial jargon, just step-by-step guidance to help you secure the funding you need to grow your business..
How Loan Prep Works on the RIG
Lending/Funding Consultation
Your journey to secure a loan starts with an in-depth lending consultation. Here, we evaluate your specific needs and guide you through the lending landscape, helping you understand the types of loans that would be most suitable for your trucking business. Important Note: We strongly advise all our clients not to engage with any other loan brokers. Many truckers have fallen into problematic financial situations due to unscrupulous loan brokers, leading to high payments and fees that cripple their cash flow. The beauty of being a member of the R.I.G. is you can always be confident that we have your best interest in mind for every single transaction.
Document Collection
One of the most cumbersome aspects of securing a loan is gathering all the required documentation. We streamline this process for you, providing a checklist of needed documents and assisting you in gathering and organizing them effectively. This sets the stage for a successful loan application. In fact, most of the time we already have these documents on file for our R.I.G. memebers.
Financial Review
Before proceeding to the loan application, a comprehensive financial review is performed to assess the health of your trucking business and make sure you are hitting all the marks. This involves examining your P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow. This review is crucial for identifying your loan eligibility and for tailoring a loan strategy that aligns with your business needs.
Loan Strategy
Based on your financial review, we formulate a loan strategy tailored to your business. This will involve selecting the best loan type, amount, and terms that are both achievable and sustainable for your trucking business. We ensure that the strategy fits within your financial landscape to avoid any future complications. To note- a lot of the R.I.G. services work together, loan strategy in particular.
Accessing our Lender Network
We connect you with our extensive network of trusted lenders who are experienced in the trucking industry. This increases your chances of securing a loan with terms that are favorable to you. Note: We strongly recommend staying within our lender network to avoid the pitfalls that come from dealing with inexperienced or predatory loan brokers.
BLF has an extensive network of lenders covering every conceivable business loan/funding type. This includes lenders focused in: SBA, Term Loans, Lines of Credit, Equipment Finance, Short Term Funding, and even Personal Loans. In many cases our relationships go back decades with some partners. And as a preferred partner, our applications are given consideration because we are underwriters ourselves.
Application Assistance/Submission
Once the strategy is set and the documents are in place, we assist you in filling out and submitting your loan application. Our expertise ensures that the application is accurate, complete, and presents your business in the best light, increasing the likelihood of approval. This process is most important for SBA and bank term loans, where applications have to be absolutely flawless before they sent in.
Follow Up/Closing
The loan process doesn’t end with the submission of your application. We diligently follow up with lenders, keeping you updated every step of the way, and assist in closing the loan, making sure you understand all terms and conditions before finalizing. In the even that an application is unsuccessful, we will already have discussed with you a back up plan (what we refer to as “Round 1, Round 2”, etc)

What it is NOT.
A loan from BLF.
BLF is not a lender. We are consultants and loan packagers with an extensive network of vetted funding partners.
A guarantee of approval
Applications for lending/funding are approved by the merit of the business. While we do everything ahead of time to make sure you are in the best shape possible, we cannot offer a guarantee that every client will be approved for exactly what they want.
Always .
Do I need to be a R.I.G. member to apply for a loan?
No. Loan prep is something we do an a daily basis, for many truckers. R.I.G. membership does however, come with advantages when applying for lending. This is because we will be a) intimately involved with R.I.G. truckers, b) often game planning loan submissions weeks or even in months in advance. This can result in loan apps for R.I.G. members being stronger when they go off to lenders.
Can I get more than one loan?
You can get as many loans as your heart desires. However, R.I.G. members also receive consultation from BLF, so we will make recommendations for how many makes sense.
Can I join the R.I.G. and cancel after I get my loan?
Sure. R.I.G. membership can be cancelled (and also reactivated) at any time. All of your information will remain with us, and should you rejoin in the future we won’t need to begin the onboarding process from scratch.
Is my loan application sent all over the place?
No. This practice (called “shotgunning”) is a hallmark of inexperienced loan brokers, and is ill advised. It’s also bad for your credit as it results in numerous inquiries. While we may apply with more than one lender at a time, or at different times (called “rounds” at BLF), we are always still targeting specific lenders who we feel confident are a good match.
Are there any fees to apply?
No. BLF does sometimes charged loan packaging/consulting fees for loan applications. However, as a benefit to R.I.G. members, these fees are waived.
How long is the decision period?
For most types of funding, usually a few days at the max. For larger bank term loans, lines of credit, it may take longer. And for SBA loans, the decision period can be a month or more. It all depends on the size and complexity of the lending you are seeking.

This accountability factor can be a game-changer in actually achieving your business goals.

What it is NOT.
A life coach.
Everyone at BLF cares deeply about our clients, and we often get into all sorts of conversations with our truckers. But in order to be effective, coaching sessions should always stay the course as time spent discussing your business.
Some hokey MLN nonsense.
No one is going to make you recruit new members, join a costly seminar, or sign up for some ridiculous ‘step by step’ approach to getting rich. BLF coaching sessions are grounded in realistic strategies tailored for the truckers. We focus on actionable advice and teaching our truckers stuff they can actually use for the rests of their business lives.
Unproven theories.
Our coaching is based on proven business principles adapted to the unique needs and challenges of the trucking industry. This is not an experimental or untested model.
Not Generic or One-Size-Fits-All.
Each coaching session is designed to address your specific challenges and opportunities. We don’t offer generic advice applicable to any business; we focus solely on small trucking companies.
Frequently Asked Questions
What topics are covered in the coaching sessions?
The monthly coaching sessions can cover a range of topics tailored to your specific business needs. This includes but is not limited to financial management, operational efficiency, and growth strategies. The focus is on providing actionable insights and solutions that can help your trucking business succeed.
Will I need any special software for the sessions?
No. All video coaching sessions utilize Google Meets or Zoom. Both are very easy to use and you don’t need to downlead anything in order for them to work.
I miss a monthly session can I reschedule?
We understand everyone gets busy, especially truckers. If you need to reschedule you can do so by giving us a few hours notice. If you miss your session entirely you can reschedule, once. However if you miss your 2nd session you will need to wait until the following month.
Can other people from my company join us?
Sure. The coaching sessions are generally one-on-one to provide personalized guidance. However, if there are other members in your company (or a spouse) who you feel should attend, they are more than welcome. If they are in a different location just let us know ahead of time so we can send them a meeting link.
What if I don’t feel like I need a session?
That’s up to you. We can always check back in next month. At some point you may feel that you have acquired all the knowledge and info you need and have outgrown us.
What if I want more than one session per month?
Our sessions are designed to be efficient and structured. You might just need a quick phone call, and that is no problem. However, if you really want an additional session each month we can accommodate you with a a one time add on, pro-rated at $40 per 30 minutes.
What we cannot do.
Find Loads.
BLF does not engage with any brokers, dispatchers or load boards. We do, however, aim to get all of our truckers off of dependence upon these services for their daily loads. This is done through other aspects of the R.I.G.
Operational Efficiency.
BLF consultants are generally not equipped with the skills to help with fleet management and route optimization. (*We are planning to roll out this service late 2023).
Regulatory Compliance.
We are not able to help with DOT compliance or permit assistance at this time.
Driver Management
Aside from the occasional referral of one BLF trucking client to another, we cannot assist with recruiting, hiring and managing additional drivers for your fleet.

FAQ’s
It’s not going to take very long to see an improvement because almost every trucker will see some immediate improvement in something. This might mean more stable bank account, which can be done in 10 minutes. Or it might mean the establishment of business credit, which can take several months.
What ultimately matters is -what is the absolute goal? Most often this will take several months.
The RIG is a month-to-month program. There are no contracts or committments. You may cancel whenever you wish.
Two reasons: 1) Many services are quite time consuming, and we need to cap the amount of R.I.G. members to keep it manageable. 2) The R.I.G. won’t be useful for everyone and we prefer to only offer it to those truckers we think will benefit from it.
BLF consultants are constantly working on behalf of our clients. This doesn’t mean we are working on every client, every single day. Throughout the month the tasks associated with every R.I.G. client are worked according to schedules and workflows created internally. Don’t worry- we won’t miss anything.
Monthly R.I.G. payments are not set up to “auto-renew” like most monthly subscription services (we do this on purpose). If, however, for some reason your charge did not go through when you attempted to pay it you can contact your BLF consultant and they’ll get it taken care of for you. Don’t worry, we would never cancel an account with confirmation from a client first.
Monthly coaching sessions are designed to be one-on-one conversations between your BLF consultant and you. They are structured in such a way as to build a rapport with each other and also as instructional discussions about things specific to your business and how to improve it. They will be casual and freindly, but also focused.
